Kyndryl announced an AI-powered digital twin for the workplace built on Microsoft Foundry.
The system is designed to help IT teams identify and address workplace technology issues before they cause employee disruption. It analyzes signals from devices, applications, and work locations to trigger alerts, recommend remediation steps, and send support resources before your system freezes or fails.
This announcement reflects the growing demand from large organizations for tools that reduce their reliance on traditional break/fix support models. In many companies, IT teams still discover outages only after staff members are affected, leading to delays, lost productivity, and business interruptions.
A digital twin provides a virtual representation of how work is done across an organization. This gives IT teams visibility into the health and performance of their workplace, including where work is falling behind, what’s causing problems, and where intervention is needed.
Kindrill pointed to sectors with time-sensitive businesses as an example of how small technology failures can have far-reaching effects. For example, at an airport, slow or unreliable workstations used by gate staff can cause confusion for employees and passengers as they have to switch devices to keep flights running.
The company says the product uses simulated user personas and aggregated patterns rather than tracking individual employees. This approach is intended to help IT departments model workflow issues across offices and employee groups while supporting privacy protection.

The service runs on Microsoft Azure and uses Microsoft Foundry for AI orchestration. This setup supports features such as autonomous issue identification, suggested fixes, validation of results, visualization of digital performance for a specific office or region, and linking to inventory and supply chain systems for hardware planning and inventory placement.
The announcement also fits into a broader push by IT service providers and software groups to apply AI to internal operations as well as customer-facing applications. Workplace support, device management, and digital employee experience are areas of focus as companies look to limit downtime without adding manual monitoring.
Michael Przytula, senior vice president and global lead for digital workplace services at Kyndryl, said the company views the workplace as the intersection of staff, physical locations, and systems.

He said the product aims to move IT support from responding to failures to anticipating problems.

The product also extends the collaboration between Kyndryl and Microsoft in workplace operations. Digital twins are the next step in the Kyndryl Microsoft Acceleration Hub, launched in 2025 to expand the use of AI in workplace services.
Kyndryl operates in more than 60 countries and focuses on IT infrastructure and related services for large organizations. This announcement demonstrates how service providers are adding software-driven, AI-based tools to long-term outsourcing and managed services relationships, particularly in areas where clients want to reduce service interruptions and increase visibility into day-to-day operations.
