The school announced that it has received approval from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to convert the existing Convergence Graduate School of Information into a general graduate school and open a complete graduate program system that will add a business school that incorporates artificial intelligence and big data training within the traditional MBA framework.
This expansion marks the online institution’s move to a research-oriented model, allowing students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds to participate in graduate-level research without geographic limitations. The comprehensive graduate school will focus on “solving social issues using AI and big data,” and will establish interdisciplinary informatics majors such as data science fusion, AI business fusion, and human science fusion.
Students take foundational courses such as statistics, research methodology, and Python programming, followed by big data lab sessions, research forums, and AI-focused workshops. The university said the interdisciplinary curriculum is designed to develop researchers with both analytical skills and practical acumen.
The business school plans to introduce an AI Transformation (AX) curriculum that combines core MBA subjects with AI-powered data analysis and digital strategy. The program is structured around an MBA foundation course, advanced intensive courses including finance, marketing, management information systems and operations, and a seminar and thesis stage. The school plans to enhance its curriculum with industry-focused lectures, expert forums, AX Business Day sessions, and more.
Faculty from Korea University Business School will participate in teaching and research, allowing students to acquire both theoretical foundations and applied management skills suitable for the digital transformation era, the university said.
Lee Won-gyu, president of Korea Cyber University, said the new program signals a shift from traditional online higher education to a model that “organically links research and practice.”
“This is not just an expansion of online education,” Lee said in a statement. “Our goal is to develop convergence-minded talent who can address societal issues and lead industrial transformation through expertise in AI and big data.”
Applications for the new program will be accepted from December 1st to January 14th, 2026. All procedures, including submitting the application, paying fees, and uploading the statement of purpose, are done online.
