Application modernization is a daunting task for enterprises, but it's becoming increasingly important. That's where Konveyor AI comes in, an open source wonder that leverages search expansion generation to seamlessly integrate large-scale language models. According to James Falkner (pictured), director of runtime product marketing at Red Hat, this innovative tool is poised to change the application modernization landscape.
“The challenge we face is the economics of essentially changing an app, burning it and rewriting it.” Faulkner “We've been driving an open source upstream project called Konveyor that's designed to make it easier to onboard applications to Kubernetes. What we're doing with Konveyor is introducing a new tool called Konveyor AI that leverages the momentum behind AI to bring different and novel ways to do this modernization.”
Faulkner CUBE Research Rob Strechet and Paul Gillin in Red Hat SummitDuring an exclusive broadcast from SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio, theCUBE, we discussed why Konveyor AI is a breakthrough for application modernization. (*Disclosure information below)
Red Hat's James Falkner tells theCUBE why Konveyor AI is a game-changer.
Konveyor AI fills the app modernization void
As many organizations plan to jump on the application modernization bandwagon in the near future, Konveyor AI streamlines this process through its cloud-native capabilities, freeing companies from the hassle of rewriting apps. Faulkner It pointed out.
“In a recent survey we did, we found that 80% of people surveyed plan to modernize more than half of their apps over the next two years. Another interesting thing that came out of the survey was that more than 75% plan to use AI,” he points out. “All you have to do is take your application and ask the LLM, 'What's the next best thing to do?' With Konveyor AI, you can leverage a lot of the application modernization history, instead of just asking what the next best action is.”
By integrating Konveyor AI with IBM Watsonx Code Assistant, RAG has enhanced and improved prompts. As a result, it also Application Modernization According to the trip Faulkner.
“IBM Research is actually one of the partners in the Konveyor community,” he says. “Konveyor AI can use the watsonx Code Assistant as the foundation for its underlying model, and one very new thing we're doing is taking enterprise data, historical data about other fixes that have been made through GitHub pull requests, JIRA issues, static code analysis, and so on, and taking all of that and using the RAG pattern.”
