Love it or hate it, AI is building a foundation in the kids industry, and South Korea’s Park Star Media wants to get on the ground floor.
The studio is launching a new A+ IP accelerator program to teach early-stage creators how to use technology. The goal is to advance their careers and open up a pipeline of new talent for Park Star.
Attendees will work with studios to learn how to use ChatGPT for idea generation, Midjourney for visuals, and AI tools for dubbing. Creators will also be coached on the basics such as how to create a Bible, how to produce content, and how to extend his IP beyond television. Applications are being accepted on Parkstar’s website until the end of May, with the program starting June 5.
Park Star is already using AI tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney to develop concepts for animated series and quickly produce books and webtoons, founder says Young Park. The company produces a preschool series Super Binks In cooperation with WildBrain Spark, we are currently developing new series, including: Ancho V.
The company is launching an accelerator to discover new projects from fresh voices that could be invested in and brought to market. At the same time, we want creative talent to stand out by helping creators learn how to use AI tools that are becoming part of how companies do business.
To support its own quest for AI, the studio hired a former Disney concept artist and director Nakche as a development director. He will oversee the AI accelerator program and push Parkstar to use the technology more frequently in its own productions. He joined the company in March and is based in Los Angeles.
In his final role as a concept artist at Walt Disney Studios’ StudioLAB, Choi designed content for VR, AR, and animation. And he previously worked as a director at Disney Junior (Light, Camera, Lexi!) and Rovio storyboard artists Angry Birds 2 movie.
Choi is currently helping the studio test AI tools to create a series of children’s books centered around Asian historical figures and famous folktales. Technology is helping us create text and images, but the majority of the creation is done by real artists and writers. At the end of May, we plan to start crowdfunding to support this project.
“AI has transformed my workflow as a storyteller and director,” Choi said. “We are excited to share the tools that are revolutionizing filmmaking. [the] We provide the process of telling stories to the next generation of creators. ”
