AI Video & Visuals

Joanna Stern, former wall street journalspent a week testing the new Siri in iOS 27 in various ways. Her new video provides an easy-to-understand overview of the pros and cons of Siri AI, which is currently in beta.

Here’s how Joanna Stern spent her first week using Siri AI.

If you’re wondering how iOS 27’s new Siri AI works, Joanna Stern posted a new video that gives you a great hands-on look.

As for the title, “Can we finally use Siri?”, Mr. Stern answered strongly in the affirmative in his post about X.

Some impressive examples in her videos include Siri’s new “Personal Context” feature.

During a trip to the beach, Stern asks Siri, “I want to buy some souvenirs for my kids. Given what you know about them, what should I buy here?”

Siri’s highly personalized and informed responses led to follow-ups such as: “Siri is pretty accurate. How did she know that information about my child?” The answer was based on information in the Messages app.

Similarly, other examples included Siri retrieving data from Stern’s calendar, Messages app, and even voicemail. With that information, Siri kindly provided suggestions that Stern could work on that day.

These two scenarios demonstrate the unique benefits of Siri AI due to its rich on-device data. “AI is only as good as the data it has. And does Apple have a lot of my data? I’m also considering switching to Apple Mail. That says a lot.”

  • Mistakes Siri still makes
