Jenna Ortega shares her real thoughts on AI and its impact on filmmaking and the world in general.
As a member of the Marrakech Film Festival jury, Ortega was asked what she thought about AI. Wednesday The actress said it was scary.
Ortega said it’s “very easy to be afraid” of the “deep uncertainty” that AI will bring to the world.

The only positive impact of AI that actresses can imagine is whether it sparks an artistic revolution.
“In these difficult and turbulent times, there is often a renewed awakening and a drive for artists to speak up and do more for their passion and protection. I envision and hope that this is the case,” she said.
“But there are some things that AI can’t reproduce. There’s beauty in hardship, there’s beauty in mistakes. Computers can’t do that. Computers don’t have souls,” Ortega said.
In addition to Jenna Ortega, the jury will include Anya Taylor-Joy, directors Celine Song and Julia Ducournau, Brazilian director Karim Ainous, Moroccan director Hakim Belaves, and Iranian-American actor and director Peyman Mahdi, and the festival will be headed by Parasite filmmaker Bong Joon-ho.
