Javed Akhtar takes legal action against AI video:

Veteran lyricist, poet and scriptwriter Javed Akhtar has reacted strongly to the AI-generated fake video currently circulating on social media. The video reportedly shows a computer-generated image of Ahtar wearing a topi and falsely claims he has “turned to God.” Akhtar called the statement completely false and misleading and warned of strict legal action against those responsible.

Javed Akhtar clarified the situation on X (formerly Twitter) and expressed his anger at the misuse of technology to spread misinformation. He wrote:

“There is a fake video circulating showing a fake computer-generated photo of me with a topic above my head claiming that I ultimately turned to God. This is bullshit. I am seriously considering reporting this to the cyber police and ultimately dragging the person responsible for this fake news and the few people who forwarded it to court for damaging my reputation and credibility.”

The post quickly gained attention, with many fans and colleagues supporting Akhtar and accusing him of misusing artificial intelligence to create false narratives about public figures. The incident once again highlights growing concerns about AI-generated content and deepfake videos, which can easily mislead people and damage reputations.

Known for his outspoken opinions and rational thinking, Javed Akhtar has frequently addressed issues related to misinformation and social responsibility. The circulation of such videos not only misrepresents his beliefs, but also raises serious ethical and legal issues.

If Akhtar pursues legal action, it could serve as an important reminder that creating and sharing fake AI content can have serious consequences. As technology advances, celebrities and authorities are calling for stricter laws and awareness to prevent the spread of fake news and protect personal credibility. Many other celebrities have also faced the issue of AI-generated videos, and some have already taken action against them.
