Jack White accuses Tennessee congressman of being fooled by AI video.
In a since-deleted post to X, an account called MAGA Response shared a short AI-generated video of what appeared to be a white person wearing the same outfit he wore to this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, yelling, “Don't even think about listening to my music, you fascist.”
The fake clip appears to suggest that White was telling Trump supporters not to listen to his music.
Tennessee House of Representatives Tim Burchett He reposted the video to X with the caption, “That pretty girl from the Addams Family was so ugly and angry.”
In response, the former White Stripes frontman responded angrily to Burchett's comments on his Instagram account.
“Can you believe that a member of Congress of the United States, yes, a member of Congress (from my state), someone who once held a hallowed and respected position in our society, would repost an AI-generated video containing false comments I never said (without any research I might add) and add to it, like a 10-year-old on the playground, an attempted insult to my appearance? What kind of joke are we living in now?” he wrote.
White continued: “All of Trump's henchmen and bad guys, like this elected official, are cowards who would never say this directly to someone like you or me.” “Trump really lowered the bar when he brought disaster to this government. He and his sycophantic congressmen and women show no decency or dignity, only repeating their cheap, childish, grade-school bullying remarks and fake Christian (!) rhetoric. What a shame on our nation's leaders. It's really sad how embarrassing it has become. I wish the average American conservative could, just for a moment, talk to and actually see intelligent people from other countries around the world. What a joke our government (and by proxy our country) has become.
“It's all about giving power and soapboxes to low-class playground bullies like Trump and Congressman Burchett. The great state of Tennessee deserves more recognition for Mr. Burchett, but you and your cult are too dug in and too blind to even realize it,” White continued. “With a Bible in one hand and a flag in the other, he tramples on our democracy every day for the sake of one man's ego, using taxpayer money to accept a fake peace prize and tearing down the White House brick by brick. It's shameful.”
White has been a frequent and vocal critic of the Trump administration, at one point saying the president was “pretending to be a Christian.”
