It's no surprise that WhatsApp is introducing an AI chatbot.

AI News

AI chatbots are slowly but surely making their way into every app we use, the latest being WhatsApp. Meta is currently testing the addition of the Meta AI chatbot to its messaging service. This testing is currently occurring within the latest versions of the app on both iOS and Android. At the moment, this test is only available to those who have set English as their WhatsApp language.

However, this is a limited test, so not all eligible people will be able to see the Meta AI chatbot on WhatsApp yet. So far, it has been released in some countries, including India, but only to a limited number of people. Of course, this will change in the future.

Some have Meta AI integrated into the search bar, while others have a new Meta AI icon in the top right next to the camera button and new conversation button.

Meta AI works like any other chatbot and allows you to ask questions. When you tap the Meta AI-enabled search bar, you'll see some randomly generated suggestions for what you can ask, but of course you can use any prompt you like.

It will be interesting to see if WhatsApp can go a step further and integrate chatbots into its chats like Skype does, considering its end-to-end encryption method. So far, we haven't gotten that far and the implementation is limited to the search bar.
