ipNX helps customers use AI safely and responsibly – THISDAYLIVE

Applications of AI

To commemorate Safer Internet Day 2026, ipNX Retail hosted an interactive webinar focused on providing expert-led insights to small and medium-sized business (SMB) owners, remote workers, young people, IT professionals, and seniors about the emergence of artificial intelligence to transform digital experiences.

They were also educated on how to use it safely and responsibly to protect their online activities.

The webinar, themed “Smart Tech, Safe Choices – Exploring the Safe and Responsible Use of AI,” featured industry experts such as Dr. Samuel Mbonu and Najite Iktegbe, CEO of ipNX Managed Network Services.

The session was moderated by Mr. Akintunde Taiwo, Head of Retail Sales, ipNX.

As AI becomes increasingly integrated into daily life and business operations, this webinar examined both the opportunities and risks associated with the emerging technology. Attendees gained insight into how AI can improve productivity, accelerate career growth, and support business innovation, while also understanding the importance of protecting personal and organizational data.

While speaking about the significant opportunities presented by artificial intelligence, Mbonu highlighted the evolving threat landscape, noting that AI-enabled cyber risks such as identity theft, deepfakes and data manipulation are becoming more sophisticated.

“Identity theft, deepfakes, and data manipulation are rapidly increasing. These threats have skyrocketed by more than 900% in the past two years, as bad actors increasingly leverage AI to launch attacks. In fact, more than 60% of organizations report encountering AI-powered cyberattacks. As a result, individuals and organizations are becoming more intentional about the information they share and increasing the security of their digital identities. Safeguards need to be put in place to protect them,” Mbonu said.
