Infineon on an ecosystem approach to powering AI, from grid to core to physical AI

AI Video & Visuals

In this video interview, Adam White, President of Power & Sensor Systems at Infineon Technologies, discusses emerging technologies and approaches for powering all things AI, from the grid to the core to physical AI. He spoke about developments announced around Computex 2026, which will be held in Taiwan in June 2026, and highlighted the importance of announcements such as Infineon joining NVIDIA’s MGX AI Factory ecosystem to enable next-generation AI server rack power delivery architectures, physical AI security and post-quantum security.

He speaks to Nitin Dahad, Executive Editor of EE Times, about the importance of ecosystems and collaboration as technology becomes more complex. He also said that we are currently at a tipping point for GaN (gallium nitride) technology, with more customers looking at its value proposition. However, he noted that there is an increasing need for a hybrid approach to developing power solutions that include silicon, silicon carbide, and gallium nitride, commenting, “Therefore, we need to master all three technologies.”

Mr. White also talks about the industry trend towards solid state, particularly transformers and now solid state circuit breakers. Regarding the latter, he speaks of the changing nature that has arrived, both in terms of isolation and speed.
