Jakarta (Antara) – Meutya Hafid, Indonesia's Minister of Communications and Digital Affairs, called for prompt and cohesive action in implementing rapid and coherent actions on the strategic agenda, including the development of the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Framework.

In an official statement on Thursday, she said President Prabobo Suboant emphasized the need for concrete action and faster implementation of the programmes in all ministries and government agencies.

“The president reminded us once again that we need to speed up our work,” she said at the provincial leadership meeting held in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The government is currently finalizing Indonesia's AI roadmap. It serves as a guide to building a comprehensive and responsible AI ecosystem.

The Ministry of Communications coordinated with 39 ministries and agencies to coordinate perspectives in drafting the roadmap. The initiative is expected to enhance interagency collaboration in developing both talent and the broader AI ecosystem.

Five prioritized sectors have been identified for AI development: healthcare, digital talent education, bureaucratic reform, smart city development, and food security. These areas were chosen to ensure that digital transformation promotes equity and public welfare.

Minister Hafid emphasized the importance of improving coordination and systematic reporting at all levels of the ministry, beyond AI.

She emphasized that joint leadership is essential to fostering a more dynamic, efficient and future-ready government.
