Zscaler's Sam Curry explores AI's role in strengthening security protocols

Application security is a major challenge for many organizations. Zscaler CISO Sam Curry said integrating artificial intelligence into application security and following “secure by design” principles streamlines processes and strengthens defenses.

“It's always better and cheaper to catch these problems early in the cycle,” Curry said, advocating the use of memory-safe programming languages and zero-trust architectures.
In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2024, Currie also said:
- The importance of integrating AI-driven models with traditional security to ensure comprehensive system protection.
- Traditional security measures such as risk assessment and resource allocation are still required to protect AI-integrated systems.
- Challenges and strategies for protecting the integrity, availability, and privacy of data in AI systems.
Prior to joining Zscaler, Curry served as chief security officer at Cybereason and chief technology and security officer at Arbor Networks. Prior to that, he worked for EMC's Security Division and RSA where he held various senior management positions for over seven years, including Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Senior Vice President of Product Management and Product Marketing. Did. Mr. Curry has also held senior positions at Microstrategy, Computer Associates, and McAfee. He is a member of his Cyber EdBoard.
