IIT-Ropar creates the city's Biz Honchos Ai-Ready

Ludhiana: There is good news for the city's industry leaders. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar will train them with artificial intelligence. The Institute has launched a dedicated AI program with a special focus on practical business applications. Called “AI for Leaders,” a course designed for top-level executives, it benefits over 60 industries, most of which are based in Ludhiana.The announcement came in a powerful session hosted by the Munjal Birmingham City University Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MBCIE) at Hotel Park Plaza. Attended by more than 100 business leaders and technocrats, the event officially placed MBCIE as the satellite centre for the Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence at IIT Ropar. Speaking at the event, Dr. Pushpendra P Singh, Dean (corporate, alumni, placement and strategy) and Ihub-Awadh project director at Iit Ropar shared important details of the program. He said, “The “AI for Leaders” course will be run in a flexible hybrid format with a minimum of 36 hours of online learning and practical day in-person training. Participants can choose a convenient location for the actual session.He said the curriculum includes rapid engineering and AI applications tailored to business verticals, including marketing, branding, PR, HR, project management, screening processes, and task automation. In his welcoming speech, SK Rai, Maryland of Hero Cycles highlighted the importance of fantastic leadership in the adoption of technology. “It's not just technology, it's not just about thinking. If leaders don't embrace AI, organizations will fall behind. This initiative gives us the clarity and support we need to take that step,” he said. Sudarshan Iyengar, an associate professor at IIT Ropar, called AI adoption a “strategic order.”
