The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and the University of Birmingham today launched the application process for the Joint Master’s Program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. According to IIT Madras, this is the first time that IIT has partnered with the Russell University Group in the UK.

The Indian Express previously reported on an educational partnership between IIT Madras and the University of Birmingham.
Students with a Bachelor of Science degree and BTech degree of 60% or higher are eligible to apply. Also, if the English score is 75 percent or above in class 12 of CISCE/CBSE and West Bengal Board and 80 percent or above in other state board of class 12, the student will be eligible for his IELTS/TOEFL/PTE score is waived.
Students can study at the University of Birmingham Computer Science Faculty and also benefit from the IIT Madras curriculum. The National Institutional Rating Framework (NIRF) has ranked IIT Madras as the best numerical engineering university in India.
The decision to start a joint master’s program was agreed upon by Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, and Prof. Adam Tickel when they visited Chennai in November 2022, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between them in February 2023. signed.
