CYRAN AI Solutions, an AI startup founded at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, has launched a DIY tool kit to teach AI to school students. The tool kit is named BUDDHI, an acronym for “Build, Understanding, Design, Deploy Human-like Intelligence.” The kit was launched on January 27 by Professor V Ramgopal Rao, Director, Delhi Technological University, Delhi, in the presence of representatives from education/skills NGOs, industry, schools, teachers and students.
According to the manufacturer, the toolkit is completely developed and manufactured in India and will help students experience AI, learn AI basics and build AI-based projects. More than two years of stealth engineering efforts have gone into the development of the current version of the BUDDHI kit. The kit includes many new technological features, including an AI compute engine, an easy-to-use AI training/inference application, and a real-world AI-powered circuit board. The toolkit is the brainchild of Professor Manan Suri of the Delhi Institute of Technology, who was recognized as one of the top 35 innovators under 35 in the world by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.

Recently, CBSE introduced AI as a subject in the school curriculum. BUDDHI kit and its accompanying content are fully aligned with the AI School syllabus prescribed by CBSE. This kit can be used as an AI lab or AI practice resource to complement the prescribed theoretical components.
