new delhi [India]November 26: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has started accepting admissions for its seventh batch of Quantum Computing and Machine Learning certificates. The program features a cutting-edge curriculum that prepares professionals to navigate the rapid transformation at the intersection of quantum technology and machine learning across business and technology contexts.
The Quantum Computing and Machine Learning certification combines rigorous theoretical foundations with practical practice. Learners will work on quantum algorithms, core machine learning techniques, and the convergence of these areas, preparing them to operate confidently in the new quantum era. This six-month fully online program consists of seven carefully structured modules, including quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms, classical machine learning, quantum Fourier transform and quantum machine learning, and product analysis.
A McKinsey report predicts that the three pillars of quantum technology – quantum computing, quantum communications, and quantum sensing – could collectively generate up to US$97 billion in global revenue by 2035. In India, recognizing the strategic importance of advances in quantum technology, the Indian government has allocated Rs 10 billion. $6.03 billion for the National Quantum Mission, positioning the country as one of the world’s leading countries in quantum research and development. Growing demand across pharmaceuticals, healthcare, financial services, climate and sustainability, and other sectors is creating strong long-term career opportunities for quantum technology professionals.
Commenting on the announcement of the 7th batch, Professor Abhishek Dixit, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Delhi University of Technology, said, “We have designed this program to turn curiosity into ability. The device-first live streaming allows busy professionals to gain depth without compromise. “With expert guidance, casework, lab, and on-campus immersion, learners will gain the skills to map business problems to quantum ML toolkits and responsibly deploy prototypes, positioning themselves to lead.” India’s quantum opportunities and global market demand under the National Quantum Mission. ”
By the end of the program, learners will gain a comprehensive understanding of quantum optimization techniques and a practical ability to implement quantum algorithms such as VQE and QAOA. The delivery will be done in Direct-to-Device (D2D) mode through IIT Delhi’s Interactive Learning (IL) platform and will feature live sessions with renowned faculty and industry experts and will also include a one-day campus experience at IIT Delhi to deepen applied learning.
Graduates of the Quantum Computing and Machine Learning certification can pursue roles at the forefront of technological innovation, including quantum software developers, quantum machine learning engineers, quantum data scientists, and quantum consultants.
Eligibility: Applicants holding B.Tech /BE, BCA/MCA, B.Sc. (all streams) or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mathematics are eligible to apply.
About Indian Institute of Technology Delhi:
The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is one of the 23 IITs established as centers of excellence for training, research and development in science, engineering and technology in India. Established in 1961 as the Faculty of Engineering, the institute was later declared an institution of national importance under the ‘Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963’ and renamed ‘Indian Institute of Technology Delhi’. It was then given the status of a deemed university with the power to determine its own academic policies, conduct its own examinations, and award its own degrees.
IIT Delhi is consistently ranked among the top five management institutes and ranks second in the 2025 engineering rankings by NIRF.
