Ladakh, May 31: iHub Spoke Centre, Kargil Campus of University of Ladakh inaugurated a special certificate course on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning designed specifically for students of PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kargil with a grant inauguration ceremony.
The inauguration ceremony was a great success and highlighted the efforts being made towards improving educational opportunities in the region. Prof. S. K. Mehta, Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, was present as the Chief Guest and Amitabh K. Ashwani, Principal, PM Shri JNV Kargil, was present as Special Guest.
The event began with a traditional Khattak ceremony symbolizing honour and respect, where Ms. Kaneez Fatima, Honorary Chancellor, UOL Kargil Campus offered Khattak to the guests including the Chief Guest and special guests. This traditional ceremony was followed by a welcome address by Ms. Kaneez Fatima. She thanked the Vice Chancellor and other distinguished guests for their attendance and support. In her speech, she highlighted the progress and achievements of UOL's iHub spoke centres, the importance of AI in today's education environment and the skill-based education policy being implemented. She also expressed her gratitude to Principal PM Shri JNV Kargil for suggesting the course, reflecting their joint efforts to enhance education delivery.
The course was formally inaugurated by the Guest of Honour, Prof. SK Mehta, by releasing a booklet detailing the course curriculum. Later, Dr. Mehboob Ali, Coordinator, iHUB Spokes, took to the stage and gave an insightful presentation to the audience on the importance of the course, its curriculum and expected outcomes for the students.
Special Guest Amitabh K Ashwini in his address expressed his gratitude to Ladakh University, especially the Kargil campus, for approving and facilitating this course. He also expressed his gratitude to the Vice Chancellor, Provost and Dr. Mehboob for playing a key role in making this initiative a reality.
The ceremony also included the presentation of mementos to the guests as a token of appreciation for their contributions and support.This was followed by a keynote address by the Guest of Honour, Prof. SK Mehta, who spoke about the important role of iHub Spoke Centres in the campus and expressed his gratitude to Ms. Kaneez Fatima for her efforts in improving the quality of education at the university.
To conclude the event, Assistant Professor Anwar Hussain gave a formal vote of thanks and congratulated everyone for their hard work in making the ceremony a smooth and successful one. The event marked a major step forward in Ladakh's educational landscape as it focuses on AI and machine learning to equip students with cutting edge skills for the future.
