International Cricket Council: Dedicated Hindi social media channels on Instagram and Facebook, direct-to-fan streaming, radio commentary and AI-generated video clips are some of the unique digital experiences that will be available to cricket fans across the globe during the Men's T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday announced a series of innovative digital initiatives aimed at engaging and benefiting cricket fans around the world ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, ensuring more fans in more countries than ever before can experience the excitement of the tournament.
“To reach a diverse fan base, we will launch dedicated Hindi social media channels on Instagram and Facebook, which will provide Hindi speaking fans with customised content, updates and exclusive information about the tournament, including Hindi highlights from all India and knockout matches,” the ICC said in a release on Thursday.

“This will complement the content being produced around the clock at match venues and at the Barbados digital hub, ensuring fans receive the latest updates, highlights and behind the scenes footage throughout the tournament,” the statement said.
For the first time, ICC.tv will offer direct-to-fan streaming in 83 territories, including Nepal, Afghanistan, Netherlands, Japan and Germany, giving fans in these territories access to never-before-seen live matches, highlights and exclusive content.
The ICC will also broadcast live radio commentary from its licensee, the BBC, globally via the ICC website and app.
“In addition, we will launch an all-new t20worldcup.com website and mobile app, with video content at the forefront,” the ICC said in a statement.
These digital platforms will feature AI-generated video clips and high-quality locally produced video to deliver the best T20 World Cup experience straight to the screens at fans' homes.
“The new ICC Fan Passport, developed as part of our partnership with the NEAR Foundation, rewards fans for their digital activity. By predicting match outcomes and taking part in our Roblox integration, fans can earn points and earn rewards, enhancing their T20 World Cup experience,” the ICC said.
Fans were also invited to show off their cricket knowledge with a new prediction game – the faster they predict who will be the man of the match, the more points they can earn. This interactive game will add extra excitement to fans following the tournament.
“Our digital collectibles partner, FanCraze, will be releasing a Web3 fantasy style game with ICC Crictos at the core of their product. In other gaming news, we are pleased to announce that ICC Fan Zone will be integrated into Roblox's three biggest games, providing an immersive experience for young fans,” ICC said.
“The ICC Digital division is always looking to showcase what it's like to take part in our amazing events to the hundreds of millions of fans around the world who love our game but can't attend in person. These series of initiatives will not only deliver these experiences to even more fans, but also reward those who are most deeply involved,” said Finn Bradshaw, ICC's head of digital.
