The global transition to AI in education means a major transformation in teaching and learning methodologies, as Qatar paves the way for the GCC region.

Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education has embarked on an effort to develop a strong AI strategy in an important move towards integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the education sector.

The project revolves around core principles that promote seamless access and optimal use of big data to streamline and regulate educational processes.

Mona Salem Al-Fadli, head of the ministry’s Information Systems Department, told Qatar Radio that the effort is in line with broader AI goals outlined in Qatar’s National Vision (QNV) 2030.

She said a key element of the proposed AI strategy is the creation of predictive systems that leverage data mining techniques to facilitate predictive modeling. This will enable the ministry to effectively monitor, manage and predict future trends in education quality, promoting proactive rather than reactive measures.

Development of this innovative strategy began a year ago, laying the foundation for an advanced AI system capable of predicting the performance of education systems with astonishing accuracy.

Al-Fadri said such a system would provide analytical insight into student academic performance, track progress, identify areas for improvement, and provide personalized instruction. We believe that the ministry’s efforts can be made more efficient.

AI systems under development will also serve as a foundation to equip students with the skills they need to succeed in a job market that increasingly relies on AI for tasks such as data analysis, programming, and e-education. increase.

Al-Fadri added that the ministry has made significant progress in integrating AI skills and concepts into its computing and information technology curricula.

Globally, the integration of AI into education is gaining momentum.

The potential benefits range from assisting teachers in managing time-consuming tasks such as grading and maintaining reports to enhancing virtual AI-driven schools and classrooms.

Personalized education enabled by AI allows students to learn at their own pace. This feature is coming to many popular educational platforms around the world.
