Neoclouds is a specialized cloud dedicated to the highly dynamic world of artificial intelligence and is currently experiencing explosive annual growth of 35.9%. Built from the ground up to meet the critical computational demands of AI, Neocloud first appeared several years ago. Since then, dozens of providers have emerged as neocloud leaders, including CoreWeave, Crusoe, Llambda, Nebius, and Vultr.
The “neo” in neoclouds is used to distinguish it from more established cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. The large number of infrastructure, managed services, and application options means that cloud providers need to offer endless choice. Hyperscalers also supported AI workloads for the first time, but this was an option retrofitted onto existing platforms rather than a purpose-built blank slate implementation.
Neoclouds has one role: to provide the perfect home for AI. Most obviously, neocloud features GPU-first computing, which means it’s typically available at less than half the hourly price of hyperscalers. Neoclouds also offers high-bandwidth networking, low-latency storage, advanced power management, and managed services to deploy, monitor, maintain, and secure AI workloads. These features are delivered through a more streamlined and easy-to-use surface, unencumbered by traditional non-AI features.
