iOS 27 could turn your iPhone into an AI writing assistant
A number of leaks indicate that Apple is preparing a major expansion of artificial intelligence capabilities with the release of iOS 27 this fall. The company needs to deploy AI-powered productivity tools to catch up with features already offered by rivals like Google and Samsung.

Apple introduced Writing Tools in iOS 18 to use Apple Intelligence to rewrite and summarize text, but the company is likely developing a more advanced grammar-checking system designed to compete more directly with third-party services like Grammarly.

Apple is said to be restructuring its Shortcuts app to allow users to take advantage of AI. Instead of manually assembling shortcuts step by step, users will be able to simply write what they need and let the software create it for them, according to the report.
