Abbyy has compiled the third AI Pulse Developer Conference in Bengaluru. This brought developers, engineers, business leaders and enthusiasts together under one roof.
The event also featured a hackathon with 35 participants. Participants competed to develop innovative solutions by utilizing Abbyy's document processing technology, integrating AI agents and various Genai frameworks.
The Hackathon took part in from emerging talent from large consulting firms, high-tech companies and academic institutions that compete in three categories.
The hackathon was evaluated by Abby's senior leadership team. It consists of Paula Sanders, the pre- and post-sale SVP. Neil Murphy, Chief Revenue Officer. Chief Marketing Director Bruce Orcutt. They evaluated solutions for practical use and potential business impact.
The Deloitte team, consisting of Kaustubha Uday Vaidya, Rithi M, S Shanthaseelan and MD Shahid Akhtar, was awarded the winners of the “Best Onlient App” category. Their solution, called Expense Guard, has automated scanning, interpreting and verifying business expense receipts.
They leveraged Abbyy Vantage, an agent feature that was integrated with data extraction and using Gemini to automatically flag non-compliant costs to ensure policy compliance.

Additionally, the winner of the second category, “Best Use of Abbyy Product”, was awarded to Team McKinsey, who built the “Smart Translator” solution. A team led by Sathish Kumar Murugan has developed a solution that addresses the challenges of document processing to eliminate language barriers in international business operations, using instant context-aware translations alongside ChatGpt.
“Building smart translators showed how AI and intelligent OCR can come together to solve real challenges with speed and accuracy,” Murugan said.
The Telstra team was awarded the “Best Integration of Third Party AI” for a project called Insurance Aidvisor. Behind the Wordplay and the project were Krishnakumar and Madhushankar from the company. The two have created solutions to address challenges in the healthcare industry. Understand complex insurance contracts. Their project has integrated Abbyy Vantage and OCR with frameworks such as Spacy, Openai Embeddings, Chromadb, Langchain Agent, Gradio and other frameworks to create an Agent AI Assistant that simplifies health insurance professionals.
In addition to winning from a pool of Amazon gift vouchers worth $1,500, these winners will also earn automatic entries into the Abbyy MVP 2026 program.
In addition to the corporate world teams showing off their skills, the Hackathon also witnessed emerging talent from various universities competing for awards. In an honorary reference, the Student Excellence Award was awarded by the CMR Institute of Technology for the SILO AI Project. The team consisting of Sarvottam Bhagat and Deepankar Sharma has developed a unified document automation toolkit that analyzes various document types and proposes the best Abbyy model for processing.
The tool integrates OpenAI and Google APIs, Gmail, Slack (via MCP Server), N8N, Bolt.New, Lovable, and Cursor to enable real-time processing, automation and collaboration.
“To be part of the Abbyy Developer Conference Hackathon was an incredible learning experience. We now creatively integrate multiple AI agents with Abbyy's powerful document processing tools, live and in real time,” says Bhagat.
The hackathon not only showed the possibility that AI could address pressing challenges, but also highlighted how Abbyy's technology and products could develop practical solutions with measurable real-world outcomes.
“What stood out the most was how our partners combine Abby Technology with other platforms to solve real business problems. Their innovation and collaboration spirit makes this event special,” Murphy said.

Additionally, the two-day annual meeting provided participants with real-world insights through hands-on sessions and case studies led by Abbyy MVP and experts.
