Virtual being and synthetic media startup Hour One has introduced a generative AI tool called Video Wizard that generates videos from written descriptions. Hour One describes Video Wizard as a “prompt-to-video” feature that enhances Script Wizard, which was introduced in January to create scripts using OpenAI’s generative AI models.

Video Wizard begins by creating a script from a text prompt, but by casting and hosting one of Hour One’s virtual humans to run a script accompanied by images and sounds curated by Video Wizard. , to continue making videos. Like the Script Wizard, the Video Wizard user can edit the script to reword or change its length, switch to first person view, play with tone options, and more. Video Wizard shows a larger strategy for Hour One’s AI tools. New generative AI capabilities enhance what started as a way to create virtual reception desks for buildings, and has since evolved into uses such as creating synthetic news reports using AI anchors. In recent months, we have seen an increasing number of video production platforms incorporating generative AI tools. Adobe recently started adding video production capabilities to his Firefly-generated AI toolset with features like AI-assisted editing and storyboarding.
