New Delhi, April 15: Recruitment for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) jobs continues to gain momentum in India, with new job creation increasing by 12% in March this year compared to the same month last year. This was revealed in a new report released on Monday.
According to the Naukri JobSpeak Index, hiring for roles such as machine learning engineer increased by a staggering 82 percent in March 2024.
Hiring activity for full-stack data scientist roles also increased by 20 percent compared to last year.

Additionally, the report notes that employment in the oil and gas sector grew by 22% in March 2024 compared to last year, with the highest demand for MEP engineers and electrical engineers.
Employment in this sector was particularly high in the cities of Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.
Employment in the pharmaceutical industry was slightly positive, increasing by 2% compared to last year.
Recruiting for senior professionals with 16 years or more of experience continues to be the most active, with hiring in this field of experience increasing by 11 percent in March this year, the report said.
Looking at cities, Jodhpur led the employment trend with a 13 percent increase in new job creation over last year, followed by Rajkot, Raipur and Guwahati, which saw increases in new job creation of 12 percent, 7 percent and 6 percent respectively.
