House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries has denounced President Donald Trump in an manipulated video posted to Truth Social, which featured Jeffries on Sombrero, and called the video “racist and fake.”

Jeffries stood side by side with House Democrats outside the Capitol on Tuesday hours before the government faced closures when the government condemned the footage.

“President, next time you have anything to say about me, don't be wary through racist and fake AI videos,” Jeffries said in response to the footage. “When I return to my oval office, say that to my face.”

Trump posted a Jeffries AI Deep Fark on Truth Monday on True Social, fully dressed in mustache, hours after he and Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer met with Republicans in his oval office and a deal to keep the government open.

The two sides are unable to reach an agreement, leading to a video, depicting Schumer saying, “If we give all these illegal alien healthcare, we might be able to put them by our side so they can vote for us.”

Democrats also tore Trump for the video saying that the president didn't exist as both parties were working to keep the government open.

“It's childish behaviour,” said Rep. Grace Meng (D-ny), according to Politico. “I don't tolerate kids doing that. There are far fewer American presidents. Both sides work together to show goodwill.

However, the White House has expressed other sentiments.

“Hakeem Jeffries and other Democrats have refused to extend the clean, simple funding they supported just six months ago,” White House spokesman Abigail Jackson told TheWrap: The result of the Democratic Party's closure. ”

US President Donald Trump will be attending a press conference with British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer (not pictured) at the end of his state visit to Elsbury, England on September 18, 2025.
