Montreal — Haivision is a global provider of mission-critical, real-time video networking and visual collaboration solutions, and has announced the availability of the latest release of the Kraken video processing platform with Shield AI object detection.
With its latest product introduction, the company brings the power of AI to full motion video and metadata processing, enabling quick and life-saving decisions.
“The latest release of Tracker With Kraken brings the best variety tracking algorithms from Shield AI to real-time FMVs, allowing users to gain AI-enabled insights into the streams that Kraken can run.
The Kraken video platform was developed through decades of engineering experience
The Canadian company is designed for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR) and situational awareness applications, and Kraken solutions claim to encode, transcode and transport high-quality video and metadata in real-time, even in environments where network bandwidth is unpredictable or limited. According to the company, Kraken's latest updates feature the availability of a new option, Shield AI's sensory tracker, AI-equipped software for object detection for multi-domain operations.
Haivision says that trackers will use AI and 20 years of computer vision research and development to detect moving objects in full motion video and turn raw data into practical intelligence with speed and efficiency. It can detect moving objects in maritime environments that move land such as vehicles and people, as well as targets such as boats, ships, individuals, and life jackets.
The company boasts that Kraken's advanced capabilities allow real-time transcoding of live video streams, ensuring downstream system compatibility, while also transporting essential metadata such as object detection and tracking information within full motion video (FMV) streams.
When integrated with Shield AI's tracker software, the solution can automatically detect and track live video objects shot by crews or non-white four aircraft operating in complex land and maritime environments. Downstream systems can use combined video with enhanced tracking information, either as an overlay of a tracking box or as input to popular operating image tools such as TAK and ATAK. Together, these capabilities streamline ISR workflows and enable faster and more informed decisions in mission-critical operations, the company says.
“We look forward to working with Haivision to integrate advanced AI object detection technology with defense-certified Kraken video processing software,” adds Christian Gutierrez, VP of Hivemind Engineering, Shield AI. “By combining trackers with Haivision's trustworthy ISR video ecosystem, we enable our customers to seamlessly apply AI to faster, more informed decisions within their existing video workflows.”
