Small businesses upstate and across the country are implementing artificial intelligence technology in their operations.
This technology offers many benefits to these companies, including time and cost savings through increased efficiency.by American Chamber of Commerce, More than 90% of small business owners say their companies are more successful because AI technology reduces manual errors and helps them grow faster.
“AI still feels like the Wild West because there is so little regulation when it comes to AI,” says Kenzie Biggins, CEO of Worxbee, a Greenville-based small business that provides virtual executive assistant support. says Mr.
Biggins champions the needs of small businesses as a member of Intuit's Small Business Council. She will soon travel to Washington, D.C., to consult with Congress about creating AI regulations to help small businesses.

Federal regulations can place a disproportionate burden on small businesses. Unlike small and medium-sized enterprises, Biggins said large companies have the legal teams, money and time to respond effectively to new regulations.
“handThe important thing is not to regulate AI from big companies. Keep small businesses in mind,” Biggins said. “From a regulatory perspective, we need to ensure that small and medium-sized businesses always have access to AI, because it is a way for us to continue to grow.”
Biggins and other members of the Intuit Small Business Council will be in Washington from May 5-7 for National Small Business Week.
“We're at a critical moment,” Biggins said. “We have a huge opportunity as a country to say we're going to respond to (AI) in a way that keeps small businesses at the forefront.”
