New Delhi: The Delhi government plans to leverage artificial intelligence to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across sectors. It will collaborate with technology companies, startups, and research institutions to develop AI-based solutions for sectors such as healthcare, education, transportation, urban planning, and air quality monitoring. The goal of this effort is to identify proven, market-ready technologies that can be initially piloted and then scaled up across the sector. Only AI solutions with at least one successful implementation will be considered. The move is expected to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of government systems.According to an expression of interest document released by the IT department, the government plans to integrate artificial intelligence tools to improve governance outcomes across multiple domains.“We are committed to accelerating the adoption of AI and emerging technologies to strengthen governance, improve citizen services and drive innovation in all sectors. A tender has been floated to solicit interest from technology companies, start-ups, academic institutions, research organizations and industry bodies to showcase AI-based products, solutions, projects and use cases related to public service delivery and governance,” the official said. The aim is to identify innovative AI solutions that can be adopted or piloted at the departmental level, the official added. “Initially, we will focus on smart governance and public service delivery, urban planning and smart cities, environment and air quality monitoring, health and medical services management, transport and mobility, and education,” the official said. The government will consider responses from stakeholders including AI solution providers, start-ups, academic and research institutions, industry associations, innovation labs, system integrators and technology consulting firms.“We hope to identify practical AI applications that can be tested through pilot projects within the sector. Participants will be required to demonstrate their tools in front of a government panel and outline their technology, current usage, and potential benefits,” the official added.
