Planning Minister Afsan Iqbal formed a 15-member National Task Force on Artificial Intelligence with the aim of achieving necessary national development goals.

“The main purpose of [task force] is to create a 10-year roadmap to accelerate the adoption of AI in business, development, governance, education and healthcare,” said a press release issued Friday.

The task force is made up of artificial intelligence (AI) experts and representatives from the government and private sector.

Iqbal emphasized the importance of AI for near-term progress, stating that “AI will bring about transformational changes in the areas of economy, governance and education.”

He said the task force aims to harness the power of AI for Pakistan’s development and growth, while ensuring that all segments of society can benefit from it. said.

Iqbal said the establishment of the task force is part of the government’s commitment to embrace the possibility of positively changing the country’s economic climate.

“By investing in AI, Pakistan can unlock new opportunities for growth and development and improve the lives of its citizens,” the minister said.

Iqbal also emphasized the important role AI plays in promoting Pakistan’s economic growth and development.

“The integration of AI into our governance, healthcare, and education systems has the potential to revolutionize these sectors and bring significant progress,” he added.

The minister pointed out that AI can provide previously unattainable solutions, from improving decision-making processes to personalized medical treatments to enhanced learning experiences.

In 2018, Pakistan also established a National Center for Artificial Intelligence, according to a press release.
