Google is currently expanding its latest video generation model, VEO 3, to the Gemini Application Programming Interface (API). On Thursday, Mountain View-based Tech Giant highlighted that VEO 3 will be made available to developers using the Gemini API, allowing the functionality to be integrated into the app and building new apps around it. The company has also announced VEO 3 pricing. The Vo3 is maintained higher than its predecessor's price. Currently, developers can access the API's video generation model through Google AI Studio.
Developers can now access VEO 3 via API
In a blog post, Tech Giant announced the expansion of VEO 3 with the Gemini API. The API is accessible from Google AI Studio, and the platform also offers software development kit (SDK) templates and interactive starter apps. In particular, APIs are only available to developers with paid subscriptions or valid API keys.
The price for the VEO 3 AI model is $0.75 per second (approximately Rs. 65) for video and audio output. This will cost developers $6 (about Rs. 520) for generating one 8-second video, and a whopping $45 (about Rs. 3,900) for a one-minute video. In particular, its predecessor, the Veo 2, cost $0.5 (about Rs. 43).
Google is also planning to release Veo 3 faster to the Gemini API, a faster and cheaper version of the AI model. However, there is no word on when it may arrive. VEO 3 allows developers to generate video up to 720p resolution and 24fps in a 16:9 format. These videos also have natively generated audio.
In particular, Tech Giant said it will continue to include a digital SynthID watermark in the video generated by each AI to ensure that it is not used to spread misinformation or create deepfakes.
VEO 3 was first announced at Google I/O 2025 in May. The AI model was then deployed to Google AI Pro (formerly Gemini Advanced) and Google AI Ultra subscribers. Those in the Gemini free tier are unable to use the feature.
