Google introduces Gemini Spark to AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S., taking a significant step toward turning its AI into a proactive personal agent. Spark is designed to automate tasks across Google Workspace, connected apps, and even remote browsing, positioning itself as more than a conversational AI to a 24/7 assistant.
What is gemini spark
Google has introduced Gemini Spark, a 24-hour personal AI agent. Unlike regular chatbots that wait for users to type their questions, Spark works silently in the background, following your instructions. Search your monthly bank statement to flag hidden subscription fees, check your email and compile daily updates for your family.“Gemini Spark runs on Gemini 3.5, uses the Antigravity harness, and is deeply integrated with the Workspace tools you use every day, including Gmail, Docs, and Slides. Even better, Spark is a cloud-based agent, so it continues to work in the background even when you close your laptop or lock your phone,” Google says.
How Gemini Spark works
Gemini Spark works through three main components. Tasks: Define high-level goals, such as planning a trip or managing email. schedule. Trigger actions at specific times or conditions. Skills are reusable instructions that teach Spark how to complete a task. Together, these elements allow Spark to proactively run workflows, monitor progress, and adapt to user needs.
Features and functions
Spark is tightly integrated with Google Workspace, allowing users to manage calendars, respond to invitations, edit documents, create spreadsheets, and generate slides. Gmail lets you search for threads, summarize conversations, draft replies, and organize your inbox. Beyond Workspace, Spark provides remote browser access to navigate to websites, add items to your cart, and run code. It also supports creating research tasks, newsletter summaries, and custom news digests. The monitoring panel allows users to track planned, current, and completed steps in real time.
Usage restrictions
Gemini Spark shares the same compute-based usage limits as Gemini. Users can run up to 15 tasks simultaneously, but once the maximum task limit is reached, the schedule will not be triggered.
