Google Photoshoot is a generative AI system that generates custom backgrounds and lighting.
Google Labs has launched an experimental tool within the Pomelli Marketing Platform. A tool called Photoshoot uses the Gemini Nano Banana model to create product images from a single smartphone snapshot.
The system first analyzes the uploaded photo and then digitally places the product into a new rendered scene. AI then applies realistic lighting and shadows to make the product appear integrated into the new environment.
You can also choose from a variety of templates, including “Studio,” “Materials,” and “In Use,” which features AI-generated models. This platform supports certain text-based editing. This allows businesses to change the background or match the style of a reference image.
Users can also link product URLs. This allows AI to pull images and descriptions directly from your website to generate promotional content. The system builds each user’s “business DNA” profile by scanning a company’s website and learning its color palette and tone of message.
Photography is currently a free experiment in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Not available elsewhere, including India. This tool speeds up production and reduces costs. Some early reports mention occasional issues with rendering logos and text.
However, Google is currently gathering feedback on the tool and has not announced a schedule for a broader commercial release.
