This week we made our first Google Spam Update in the August 2025 spam update, eight months. This update touched very quickly, probably within 24 hours. We also posted a volatility status report for Google Search Rankings. Google is testing changes to AI mode to promote clicks. The new report states that traditional searches are not dying. In a new survey, only 4% of searchers say they don't click on the AI overview link. Some sites with significantly lower crawl rates in Google Search Console were a confirmed bug fixed by Google. Google Search Console Performance Report Android app search appearance filter also appears to be broken. Google Ads PMAX channel reports are available at the account level. Google Ads gets viewer exclusions for shopping campaigns. Google Ads has a new loyalty goal. Microsoft responds to complaints that Bing Search Ads is hard to see. Microsoft is also testing larger title fonts for search ads than organic lists. Microsoft Advertising shared DOS and Doss of Suspensions and Appeal. And I don't think Google is hiring a new search liaison. That was the search news this week in the search engine roundtable.
