Google has introduced a new AI-driven feature in Google Photos called Video Remix. It aims to enable users to transform everyday video clips into polished, shareable content without the need for professional editing skills. The tool began rolling out to eligible Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in 14 countries, including the United States, India, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, and more, starting July 8, 2026.
Powered by Google’s Gemini Omni model, Video Remix is a dedicated hub for editing tools within Google Photos.[作成]It is embedded within the tab. With just a few taps, this feature lets you apply cinematic relighting to brighten dull or dark footage, replace plain backgrounds with more dynamic ones, and apply artistic treatments like watercolor, raw sketchbook, and oil painting effects.
In its announcement, Google positioned the tool as a way to make high-quality video editing accessible to everyday users, noting that ordinary clips can become polished, shareable moments without the need for hours of manual editing.
This release builds on recent AI-first updates to Google Photos, adding touch-up tools to remove blemishes, correct skin texture, and whiten teeth, as well as the ability to turn photos of clothes into virtual closets for trying on clothes. With Video Remix, Google continues to further push generative AI within consumer apps as competition from Apple, OpenAI, and Adobe intensifies for AI-powered creative tools.
