Google on Tuesday announced its vision to expand Gemini artificial intelligence (AI) presence in South Korea’s enterprise AI market, highlighting the company’s strengths as a full-stack AI company across infrastructure, models, and platforms.
At a press conference on the sidelines of the Google AI for Business 2026 event in Seoul, Google Korea Country Managing Director Yoon Koo and Google Cloud Korea Country Head Ruth Sun emphasized that Korea is one of the world’s most competitive AI markets and an important strategic partner for Google.
“When the world was moving into the mobile era, South Korea was often described as a global testbed,” Yun said.
“But South Korea is no longer just a place where technology is tested; it has become a fiercely competitive arena where all the major players driving global AI innovation come together and compete head-to-head. Competition here is so intense that almost every AI use case developed in South Korea has become a global reference case for innovation.”
Yun and Sun highlighted the imperative of forging partnerships with Korean companies at the heart of the competition, citing Samsung Electronics’ device experience division’s adoption of Gemini Enterprise announced on Monday as a key example.
“Gemini Enterprise was the starting point for future capabilities for Samsung,” said Sun. “By building on Gemini Enterprise, Samsung is preparing the data and infrastructure to deploy upcoming custom multi-staff AI agents that autonomously manage complex enterprise workflows.”

Sun emphasized that Google’s unified AI stack will enable enterprises to securely build, deploy, and scale AI agents by consolidating infrastructure, AI models, orchestration platforms, and security into a single platform.
“We are the only technology provider on the market that offers the entire integrated AI stack, from custom chips like the Tensor Processing Unit to world-class models like Gemini,” she said. “Our focus is on applying these technologies to help our customers innovate quickly and at scale.”
Yun said the introduction of AI is prompting companies to rethink their marketing strategies, as consumers can access product information faster and more easily and go through more touchpoints and verification loops throughout the purchase journey.
“It is increasingly important for brands to continue to provide reliable and verified information,” Yun said.
“One of the pillars is using Google Cloud to refine your proprietary data and power your organization’s AI capabilities. By building on that foundation, companies can drive business growth, while Google Ads helps you engage with customers at every touchpoint, accelerating market expansion and global business growth.”
The Google AI for Business 2026 event will run for three days starting Tuesday and will showcase real-world applications and business use cases for Google’s AI technology. Samsung Electronics, CJ Olive Young, and Kakao Bank are among the companies sharing their experience implementing AI.
“Google will continue to work with our partners in South Korea to lead fundamental changes in the way people work,” Yun said.
