This program is aimed at early to growth stage startups that are building products with AI at their core. Google has operated similar accelerators in the country in the past, but this effort leans heavily toward AI and reflects broader changes currently occurring across the tech industry.
Startups selected for the cohort will receive mentorship from the Google team, which includes engineers and product experts. Support spans areas such as AI/ML development, cloud infrastructure, product design, and scaling. Participants will also receive Google Cloud credits and attend workshops designed to help them build and deploy AI systems more effectively. As with previous editions, this program does not include stocks.
Timing here is important. India’s AI startup ecosystem is rapidly growing, with founders working across generative AI, enterprise tools, and consumer applications. Access to infrastructure and technical guidance remains a bottleneck, and programs like this aim to address that gap.
At the same time, this is also a strategic move for Google. By working closely with startups in their early stages, the company positions itself within an ecosystem where these businesses grow and scale on its tools and platform.
Overall, the announcement signals a continued push into AI, not just as a technology focus, but now as a central theme in how Google engages with Indian startups.
