At the annual hardware event, Google It has debuted its new gadget Slate, including the Pixel 10 smartphone. It includes features like a foldable screen, a faster chip, and a more advanced camera, but the main selling point was the deeper integration of AI assistant Gemini.
Early reviews suggest that where is Google's AI successful? apple And that siri failed: use contextual information from your phone and apps to be practically useful. It comes in the form of a “magic cue.” This is intended to actively retrieve information and display it when necessary.

[Pixel 10] They wore a blazer generated by the AI camera app. A compelling clone of my voice discussed lunch fluently in German, but I don't speak. When I called United Customer Service, my flight booking information was automatically displayed on the screen.
Allison Johnson from Verge:
A friend's text asking the address of the Airbnb you are sharing, in theory, Magic Cue grabs the address from your email and suggests it on the keyboard without any input from you. You can tap and confirm the email yourself, or paste it directly into the conversation. If you know that you are calling the number of businesses listed in your email, like the airline that has already booked your flight, you can view details related to your phone app, such as confirmation numbers. It looks like a kind of turbo-charged autofill for everything.
Chris Welch of Bloomberg:
For example, if you call a hotel that you already have booked, the Pixel 10 phone app will usefully display their details without having to hunt for them. If your friend asks for a reminder where he booked dinner, the messaging app will pull information from Gmail, Google Calendar, or other apps and suggest an automatic reply with the appropriate details. If someone requests a photo from a recent trip, Magic Cue automatically represents the correct image from Google Photos.
In a recent ad for upcoming Pixel 10, Google has made Apple Razzed. This has far greater hold than Siri's faults than the US smartphone market. “If you buy a new phone for a feature that's coming soon, and if it's coming out for a year soon, you can quickly change the definition,” Voiceover says. “Or just change your phone.” Apple's improved AI Siri is not expected to go out until spring 2026, and behind the scenes engineers are struggling.
Of course, how these AI tools work in the demo, and limited testing for reporters could be different from the wide range of use cases the devices will encounter at the hands of the public on August 28th.
Both Google stocks are declining today as part of a larger, tech-driven sale.
