As part of the long-term roadmap, Gemtek has increased its strategic investment in research and development, as well as automated manufacturing of high-speed textile transceiver products. The company is also expanding its fiber transceiver portfolio to serve both AI data centers and communications transport networks, addressing the growing industry's demand for scalable, flexible, sustainable optical solutions.
“As hyperscalers require faster and more efficient connectivity, 800G LPO transceivers extend Gemtek's leadership with pluggable solutions for AI and data center networks,” said James Lee, president of Gemtek. “With a large volume of automated manufacturing facilities, Gemtek is uniquely located to provide reliable, cost-optimized transceivers at scale that bridge the global supply gap as demand for AI/ML-driven products accelerates. By partnering with NewPotonics, both LPO solutions available today can be brought to market.
Leveraging the highly integrated NPG10202 LPO+Silicon Photonics PIC, the transceiver offers industry-leading power efficiency, minimized latency and robust performance under real network traffic conditions.
“The collaboration with Gemtek strongly validates that the ecosystem recognizes today's step-up in 800G and 1.6T LPO optical connections.” “Working with global leaders like Gemtek will accelerate the adoption of LPO+ chips. This brings optical signal processing directly to photonic ICs, redefineing the way data centers expand the interconnections of AI.”
