Apple officially owns it It is scheduled to be held on September 9th. This year's launch will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater on Apple's campus in Cupertino, California. The company plans to announce the range of the iPhone 17. This includes the air from the iPhone 17 for the first time, and although its name may change, it is the thinnest and lightest iPhone ever. I'm also looking forward to the Apple Watch Series 11, the Apple Watch Ultra 3, and the Airpods Pro 3.
The invitation included the catchphrase “awe dropping” along with the Apple logo in shades of blue and green. These are rumoured to be color choices for iPhone 17 Pro devices. The logo also moves like a heatmap on an Apple website. This could imply potential thermal improvements for future devices, or a rumored switch back to aluminum instead of titanium on iPhone Pro models (and will improve thermals anyway).

Wella is building a manufacturing facility in Texas
Oura, the global manufacturer of Smart Rings, announced this week that it plans to build a manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas. Wella's biggest enterprise customer is the Department of Defense, and the US-based manufacturing industry supports that need. Wella sent tens of thousands of rings to optimize performance at all branches of American Armed Services. It is noted that rings have been used in four important research areas: stress management and resilience, fitness optimization, fatigue risk management, and early illness detection.
This announcement comes as the smart ring industry is experiencing many shakeups. The US International Trade Commission recently ruled in favor of Wella in a patent infringement case against competitors and Ring Cons, which had to pull their respective rings from the US market. This was particularly bad news for Ultrhuman, which has a facility in Plano, Texas, and the company had planned to manufacture the ring in the US to avoid tariffs. The super white people are also rebutting it. (It's all very messy.)

Plaud creates credit card size AI note-taking devices that listen to the world around you, transcribe conversations and summarise them to satisfy notes with actionable insights. It began with the Plaud Note and then the wearable device, the Plaud Notepin, and this week the company unveiled the Plaud Note Pro ($179).
It shares a similar card-shaped design to the original, but now it features two additional microphones that pick up audio over a wider range. It also has a 0.95-inch AMOLED screen that displays battery life, current record status and mode. Unlike the original, there is no need to flip the switch to swap from a recorded call to in-person meeting. Pro does it for you. Press and hold the button once to start recording. You can highlight important information during a short press meeting, and you can enter the phone app at the same time to add your thoughts. They are instantly contextualized into recordings. Plaud also allows you to snap photos on your phone and add context.
Plaud's Note Pro can identify and label individual speakers with its transcription, and transcription of 112 languages. You can also declare specific questions from the notes[through the app]. So you don't need to look for important details. It employs large-scale language models of Openai, Google, and humanity. NotePro is now pre-ordered and shipped in October. You get 300 minutes of transcriptions per month, but you'll need to spit out $100 a year to quadruple it and access the new features faster.
