With the launch of the new Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with One UI 9, Samsung introduced new camera/gallery features that effectively leverage Galaxy AI.
it is called my fancam And to some extent it works just like the existing one. autoframing Features. One big difference is that the latter works while recording a video, whereas My FanCam is a gallery editing tool that you can use after you save the recording.
You can open and access videos in the Gallery app on your Galaxy Z Flip 8, Fold 8, or Fold 8 Ultra. A new My FanCam button will appear next to Audio Eraser. Tap on it, choose an aspect ratio, and frame the person or subject you want to track.
The end result is essentially the same as a video recorded using auto-framing. Galaxy AI literally tracks your subject and keeps it centered on the screen even if it moves around. Everything else is cut out.
On the other hand, even if it doesn’t seem remotely, it’s not magic. If the AI can’t find the subject to track in your video, you won’t see these options. If you can’t access My FanCam after getting Samsung’s latest foldable device, try using a different video recording option.

Devices equipped with and receiving My FanCam
As of this writing, My FanCam is only available on Samsung’s latest Z8 series foldable phones: Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. It became available for pre-order on July 22nd and was scheduled to be in stores around the world on August 7th.
Samsung hasn’t officially revealed which older Galaxy devices will get My FanCam through the upcoming One UI 9 update, but the feature isn’t exclusive to the Z8.
This has already been spotted in early Galaxy S25 One UI 9 builds. This strongly suggests that some of the existing Galaxy S and Z smartphones eligible for One UI 9 may eventually be able to access My FanCam.
