G20 Ministers Responsible for Fair and Inclusive Use of AI in Education

The G20 Education Ministers’ Meeting in Pune agreed on the equitable and comprehensive use of “artificial intelligence” in human rights-respecting education and skills acquisition. All G20 members also agreed that education plays a key role as an enabler of human dignity and empowerment globally.

The meeting’s outcome statement said G20 members agreed on the need to work together towards a resilient, equitable, inclusive and sustainable future through education.

“All G20 members, irrespective of age, gender, socio-economic or cultural background, or those facing physical, mental or other learning difficulties or special needs, are encouraged to participate in high-quality education. Agreed on the need to ensure access to comprehensive and equitable education and training.

All G20 member countries agreed that education is not only about academic learning, but about developing life, technical and vocational skills so that all learners are prepared for the future. They also emphasized the need for lifelong learning,” the statement said.

The conference will focus on the key elements of education on digital transformation, women-led development, the green transition, and sustainable development and lifestyles (LiFE) as catalysts to boost progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Role recognized.

G20 countries can tackle skills mapping at a global level and find gaps that need to be filled,” he said.
