New Delhi: Companies are stepping up their hiring of technology-related positions such as cloud specialists, cybersecurity analysts, data scientists, artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML).
This is because companies and businesses of all kinds are adopting technology throughout their operations to enhance efficiency and remain competitive in a changing environment, while increasing adoption of these roles. In addition, the shift to online work and the introduction of digital tools require companies to supplement their technology-specialized staff.
According to the World Economic Forum and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the top roles of technology in the corporate sector are:
Cyber Security Analyst: A cybersecurity analyst’s role is to identify and review vulnerabilities in computer networks, protect against unauthorized access, and install software on those networks to proactively protect those networks. According to the WEF’s Future of Work report, it is one of the fastest growing roles today as it is “driven by technology, digitization and sustainability.”
Data Scientist: A data scientist’s role is to analyze and interpret complex digital data using statistics, scientific methods, computing, processes, and algorithms to extract knowledge and insights from structured or unstructured data. Data scientist employment is projected to grow 36% from 2021 to 2031, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, a faster pace than the average for all occupations.
Cloud Solution Architect: A cloud architect is primarily responsible for an organization’s cloud computing strategy. This includes oversight of public, private and hybrid cloud and cloud deployment planning, management and monitoring. According to the WEF’s “Future of Jobs” report 2023, over the next five years, more than 75% of businesses will adopt new, cutting-edge technologies, and cloud computing is the area most likely to adopt these technologies.
AI and ML Engineers: AI and ML engineers build AI systems that automate predictive models that leverage massive datasets.of The Future of Jobs report states: Artificial intelligence is expected to be deployed in about 75% of the companies surveyed, with 50% of organizations expecting an increase in jobs and 25% expecting job losses.In the same report, AI and Machine learning specialists are at the top of the list of fastest growing professions.
Business Process Analyst: The main goal of the Business Process Analyst is to evaluate business requirements and make evidence-based recommendations that can improve business processes. The business process analyst role is also one of her fastest growing jobs after AI and ML learning, according to a WEF report.
Digital Marketing Specialist: Digital marketing specialists design digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels and platforms for business growth by creating visual or written content and optimizing the marketing funnel. A report from the WEF forecasts growth in the digital marketing sector, with an estimated 25-35% increase in jobs in the market, adding 2 million jobs.
UI/UX Designer: A UI/UX designer curates the user interface or user experience for an application, website, or other interactive media. They typically work with product designers to design ideas using storyboards and other resources. In 2021, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics suggested that demand for the UX designer could increase by 4% by 2029.
