If I were still a freelancer, and if I were to go back a long time when I was just starting out. If I were still freelancing, I would probably be charging a higher rate considering my cost of living has increased significantly. For example, what are you seeing from your workers in terms of rates?
00:15 Speaker B
You know, I have good news. In fact, we see that freelancers with relevant and reliable skills in AI command a 40% premium compared to other freelancers in the market. And for people who are leaning in and upskilling and reskilling, again, in the freelance economy, people do these kinds of things organically. Because there’s food on the table. They are moving up the learning curve. In fact, they are commanding a premium for working with AI technology, and I think this is the future trend of the market.

Where will AI take away human jobs?
00:49 Speaker B
We recognize this broadly in the labor market, and our platform only targets very low-income groups. So it’s a small job for less than $300. This represents approximately 3 1/2% of our total business. So it’s a minority, a minority of the market. Automation is progressing fastest there. Five years ago, this was 5% of our business. Currently it is 3 1/2, but I think it will continue to shrink further in the future. The bigger story is that projects are actually getting bigger and more complex. In fact, people are spending more on AI. In fact, AI spenders spend three times more than non-AI spenders, and businesses everywhere are moving to invest in AI apps and technology. This means that real-world jobs are becoming larger and more complex. Although automation is increasing at the low end, many of these workflows still require humans.

Yes, it’s a human score. This is good. Well, let’s say I’m a worker today. I have a set of skills, but I want to play in the age of AI. For example, what do you need to know about AI? What skills do you need to use to get a job from someone on your platform?
01:48 Speaker B
As you know, the fastest growing category in the history of our business is AI apps and integrations. We’ve been tracking this data for over 10 years. It’s growing very fast. And the good news about AI is, of course, there are people who have been in this field for years, but it’s a bit of an equalizer in that you can learn quickly on the go. Because of the abundance of online courses and hands-on experience, we’re seeing people move up the learning curve very quickly and become experts at things like AI app integration, and then be able to do the work and earn a 40% premium for that work again.
