In a statement Friday, the company said it received “solid disciplinary action” but did not name any officials.
“AISATS is in solidarity with families affected by the tragic loss of AI 171 and deeply regrets the lapse of the judgment reflected in recent internal videos,” the company said. “The actions were not in line with our values and solid disciplinary action was taken against those in charge to reaffirm their commitment to empathy, professionalism and accountability.”
Sources confirmed with the press that four senior executives have ended in a direct role in hosting the event. The exact date of the meeting has not been revealed by the company.
The crash took place on June 12th, when a London-bound Air India Boeing 787-8 aircraft crashed into a medical hostel complex shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad Airport. Of the 241 people on board, only one survived.
