CANANDAIGUA — Finger Lakes Community College will host a free public webinar this month aimed at helping participants better understand and use chatbot technology in their daily lives.
The webinar, titled “Chatbots: What they are, how to use them, and how to build them,” is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14th at noon and will be held virtually via Zoom.
This session will be led by Dave Ghidu, associate professor of computing science at FLCC, who will educate participants on the basics of chatbot technology. The presentation includes real-world examples, demonstrations of how chatbots are used in everyday workflows, and a step-by-step overview of how to build a basic chatbot from scratch.
Organizers say the session is designed for a broad audience and no prior experience with artificial intelligence is required.
This webinar is part of the FLX AI Hub, an initiative launched by the university to help individuals and organizations better understand and apply artificial intelligence tools. Additional programs related to this effort include a May 12th webinar focused on generative AI and a full-day in-person conference scheduled for June 10th.
University officials say the initiative aims to make AI more accessible and practical for workers and community members dealing with rapid changes in technology.
