Former Love Island USA star Alana Kaiser apologized to TikTok on Saturday after being kicked off the Peacock reality show for using the N-word in a resurfaced video.
The video shows Kaiser rapping along to Roddy Ricch’s 2019 song “The Box” and singing the lyrics with the N-word.
“I’m here to address some things that have been circulating online,” Kaiser said. “I’d like to start by talking about a video of me singing along to a Roddy Ricch song that contains racial slurs. I’m sorry to anyone who was offended by that video, but that was not my intention. The video is six years old and those words are no longer in my vocabulary.”
He added, “I would like to say directly that I do not support racism or discrimination of any kind, and I never have. When I first learned that these things were being spread online, it was really heartbreaking and helpless. But it was definitely a learning experience for me. I’m disappointed that I didn’t have the opportunity to really show my character and who I am.”
Kaiser is the second contestant on Season 8 of “Love Island USA” to win an award for saying the N-word. In late May, Vasana Montgomery was fired within days of the Season 8 premiere after two videos of her using a slur went viral. In season seven last year, two contestants, Yulissa Escobar and Sierra Ortega, were also caught using racial slurs and had to be ejected from Villa.
