NEW DELHI: Delhi police registered an FIR against the Assembly and its IT cells on Saturday, and the party's Bihar forces reportedly posted a video on social media, yelling at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother.
The lawsuit was registered on the basis of a complaint by Sankhet Gupta, the convener of the BJP's Delhi election cell.
Several sections called to the FIR have been called under those that deal with honor and harm, shaming against women, crimes related to digital misuse, and under the relevant provisions of the IT and Digital Data Protection Act.
The video, shared on X on September 10th, is said to portray Modi in a distorted way in a dreamy conversation with someone similar to his late mother Heeraben.
The 36-second clip marked “AI Generated” is widely shared online.

The BJP saw it as a personal attack on Prime Minister Modi, despite defending the video, saying that Congress was not rude to anyone.
The complaints filed with the North Avenue Police Station said the visuals were defamatory and poses levies on Prime Minister Modi's mother and motherhood in general.
According to the BJP, the video will be released as a political provocation and ahead of the Bihar Assembly election scheduled for October to November.
Congress' defense
Denied what was shown, Congress described the clip as a form of advice and commentary rather than insult.
“Where is rude to his late mother? A word, gesture, show you a place of disrespect. It is a parent's duty to educate their children. She is only educating the child, and if she thinks the child is rude to him, it is not his headache, not yours, not yours, but his headache.
This is the second time in two weeks when the names of the prime minister and his mother were dragged into political controversy.
During the “Voters Adakal Yatra” of Rahul Gandhi in Bihar, joined by RJD, the slogan that aggravated Modi and his mother was said to have grown up from the Durbanga stage on August 27th.
The Prime Minister responded sharply, saying that the incident was “unimaginable” and “a humiliation to all the mothers, sisters and daughters of the country.”
