A new report from AACSB International finds that there are more benefits than drawbacks to using AI in business schools.
The report titled “Building a future-ready business school using generative AI” Outlines the strategic path schools should take when implementing new Generative AI tools. His six major benefits to the school have been identified.
- Improved productivity– Some tasks can be automated, speeding up certain processes.
- new job– New jobs are created as new job fields develop and expand.
- Individual learning– Students benefit from an educational experience tailored to their specific needs.
- interdisciplinary integration– Business education can be more easily integrated with other disciplines for a more holistic learning experience.
- Increased creativity and innovation– Access to new tools helps foster innovation and engage in creative problem solving.
- Democratizing education and inclusion– High-quality, personalized learning experiences will now be available to a wider audience.
The report also identifies five challenges for schools and staff.
- redundancy– Certain jobs may be replaced by automation.
- skill loss– Critical and innovative thinking may be reduced.
- injustice and prejudice– Pre-existing biases in admissions and student assessment will be more difficult to prevent.
- Academic integrity challenges– The ease of content generation can increase plagiarism and reduce the value of original thought.
- decline in human value-Core Skills- Skills such as empathy, leadership, and negotiation may initially be prioritized over technical abilities.
