Modern warfare is no longer about ballistic missiles or high-end fighter jets. It's also about building the story. And with the advent of generative AI tools like Google's VEO 3, this has never been easier. As Iran and Israel exchanged airstrikes, videos generated by numerous AI began to circulate online.
One such thing video It shows nighttime missile attacks on high-rise buildings, resulting in massive explosions and buildings collapse. The video states, “Yes, this is Tel Aviv. Yes, it's real and it deals with damage to the building. Israel has placed an iron dome battery on the roof of the building.”

News18 also used this clip At the start of the video report uploaded on June 17, the caption shows an Iranian missile attacked by Israel.
8 seconds longer video Many people also shared it. It showed several women in torn clothes surrounded by rescuers in the middle of the tile rub. Both looked confused. “Ah, what a painful morning. The victims are mixed with the tile rub. We are awakened to tragedy and loss, and anyone who is pulled out from under the tile rub is in a state of insanity and surprise,” Facebook users share the clip.

a Third clip It showed Israeli soldiers pleaning for mercy, surrounded by wreckage and wounded soldiers. He said, “Iran, we beg you. Stop the attack. Half of Israel is gone. We will surrender to stop this destruction.”

India Today's Fact Check discovered that all three videos were created using Google's latest video generation AI tool, VEO 3.
Our Probe
Reverse searching keyframes from the first video led us to an archived, now deleted x post Share with an account called Press TV. The post states: “The footage reportedly shows the moment when an Iranian missile hit a bat yam building in South Tel Aviv.”

However, the faint “Veo” watermark seen in the lower right corner of the video shows its origin. A closer look revealed that all three clips contained the same mark. It's clear evidence that it was created using Google's AI video tool.

I analyzed using these videos SynthidA tool for detecting generated media in Google's AI. In the results, each was tagged: “Made with Google AI.”

VEO 3 launch Many were surprised by its surreal output at the Google I/O 2025 developer conference on May 20th. From camera angles and lip sync to film details, the video looked very real and seemed almost impossible to distinguish it from the actual footage.
Videos created using VEO 3 are invisibly watered up using Google's SynthID, but most of the free tools available are not detectable as AI generation. This has led to many people believing they are genuine. As concerns grew, Google began to add an A A visible watermark On a video created with VEO 3 in the first week of June.
Google's VEO 3 is separate from VEO and VEO 2 and was able to generate short silent video clips. VEO 3 has significantly improved this by adding synchronous audio including dialogs and sound effects, and providing better control over 4K resolution and movie elements.
Therefore, it is clear that Google's new cutting-edge AI tools have been used to create a surreal video of the Israeli-Iraq conflict.
